So let me tell you about MY journey!  I grew up in a small town in western Kansas as part of a large family.  I moved to Wichita for college and became a registered nurse.  I fell in love with the excitement and intensity of working in critical care so I did that for seventeen years before completing my Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

I have been trained in conventional medicine since the early 1980s and have worked in Wichita, Marion and Hutchinson.  I also have training in functional medicine which focuses on finding the root cause of illness through a detailed health history and treating the whole person (not a disease) as a way to promote health and wellness. 

I have had multiple injuries to my back and neck since I was a child and thought I would have to learn to live with chronic pain.  I had seen what problems people get into by taking prescription medications for pain and so I turned to massage, acupuncture and supplements instead.  In 2005, I attended my first level 1 Reiki class at the suggestion of my personal physician as a way of treating my own pain.  This changed my life so much for the better!  It was amazing to feel the energy flowing through my hands and relieving the pain in my body.  Later that year, I completed my Level 2 training which allows me to send Reiki energy from a distance.  After ten years of giving Reiki treatments, I was able to complete my training as a Reiki Master.  So now I can give Reiki treatments as well as teach classes and give the attunements needed to connect to the Reiki energy flow.
